This piece is deconstructed from the traditional haori pattern and reconstructed using Western tailoring techniques. The design achieves a balance of elegance and durability, while both the family crest and the “Tokyo, Japan” message on the back are rendered in striking three-dimensional embroidery.
While preserving the dignity inherent in Japanese formal wear, it offers durability and comfort suited to everyday life.
Since the Meiji era, the montsuki haori hakama has represented the highest form of formal menswear in Japan, reserved for ceremonial occasions.
Here, it is redefined as a modern jacket — carrying tradition forward into a new everyday life.
